And counting

Not much going on. I'm 38+ weeks, baby will come whenever baby desires. I've been a nesting fiend and terribly annoying (poor David) but I can't seem to control myself. Finally getting everything in order, we didn't (read: hate) the co-sleeper we bought many moons ago so had to get a used crib and sidecar it to the bed. It's much better now. I've accumulated quite a cloth diaper stash... especially since I plan on EC'ing a lot. We've got our fireplace working, Xmas tree up and infatable pool ready to go into the living room to have our baby. I still feel like it's all a dream.

Caught David by surprise while he was practicing babywearing with Santa.

I am 8 months pregnant. I am uncomfortable, emotional, grumpy, a pain to be around, tired...
and so
Everyday I stand in the nicest place in the world, a hot shower, and think back on my life and all the "mistakes" I've made, the poor choices, the ridiculous drama . . . I am SO happy I put myself through all that to get here to this very point in time, here with David and this big hiccuping baby doing kung fu every five minutes in my belly. I wouldn't change a thing.

Gilcrease Orchard

So, for raw vegans we decided it was pretty ridiculous that we haven't visited the only farm/orchard here in the valley and went today. It's the end of the season and they are about to close for the winter, so we missed all the fruits. But, we got a lot of tomatoes, zucchinis (check out the monsters!) and squashes. It was SO much fun digging around for stuff. I can't wait for May. We're going to make it a regular weekly habit to go and take the kid - how wonderfully healthy to really see where you're food comes from and pick it yourself.
All that for eighteen bucks. I mean, at Whole Foods that would be at least 50 hehehe :)

I'm having a rough time with contractions (um.. it's actually "pressure waves" with my Hypnobabies course - - which I LOVE... self-hypnosis for birthing..) it's just soooo amazing that we are having a baby next month!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Whenever I feel scared I just remember to look at my hand lol...

I'll explain later..

Mmmmm ... raw pizza for potluck.

Haven't had a lot to say, been in lala baby land. Feeling a bit tired and accompaning pregnancy complaints.

Trying to get house ready for baby shower!
Yesterday we went and saw Udo at Go Raw Cafe, it was a good talk. Made me up my omega 3's and 6's!!!!!
Uh oh.. almost can't see my feet - - - -

Yesterday we went and saw Deepak Chopra for 10 bucks at an outdoor amphitheater... it was a lot of fun. He's like a comedian and we laughed so much. His talk was 3 hours long and very interesting. He talked a lot about the space between vibrations.... ORMUS????

Today I am starting to freak out. One lady in my due date club on a natural parenting forum... her water broke!! :O !!! I am SO not prepared for this! Today I'm going OCD and making a thousand lists with a timeline to do and get everything... eek.

We have 6 feral cats living in our backyard. We don't know what to do. There are no more no-kill shelters here that will accept them. Animal Control will bring cages and we have to trap them then they pick them up and put them up for adoption. We think we have to do that. They are completely wild, I can't risk being near them if they scratch or bite me and on top of that they are ruining the planting we have done in the backyard. David wanted to quit feeding them so they'd go away but the mother just sat on our doorstep waiting and I started bawling and couldn't go through with it. (she's been around here for years, the previous owner of the house fed her, she doesn't come anywhere near humans though.. we had no idea she had kittens too) The kittens are getting big -- they are sooo cute. :( The whole thing makes me sad.

I'm an bottomless pit today. I've only been up less than two hours and have eaten 4 pears, 2 apples, hot chocolate (cacao), chia with banana and lucuma and a lara bar. Whoa! Maybe it's time for another baby growth spurt...

Raw Spirit

What a fun weekend! It was almost overwhelmingly big there... I couldn't find friends I knew where there... just never ran into them lol... I loved David Wolfe's talks (he's always so inspirational & fun), Nick Good's shaman storytelling, the panel (above pic) in which some members of the audience got a bit nasty (not the place to do that!). We got a really neat chakra doll from Brigitte Mars' booth and I got lots of cool used hippie-type clothes from the Date People's (I love them) booth. We got seriously cacao'd out and all the food was pretty good (once you got to it... loooooooonnnnnnnnggggggggggg lines). We managed to only take TWO pictures!?!? Sedona was so beautiful, the venue was great with lots of grass and water and ducks strolling around everywhere. It was fun, but much different than last year. Last year was magical. I did better than I thought I would and only got really tired a few times, which of course was easily fixed by all the chocolate and superfood samples everywhere. Got the new book 'Amazing Grace' and am loving it :)

Yesterday David got me my xmas present early... I was so surprised because it is SO expensive... I have wanted one for a long time and he got the new one with 160gb (wayyy bigger than our computer...) I had just went through 4 portable cd players (I don't know what their problems were) listening to my Hypnobabies and Holosynch every day and I guess he decided enough is enough..

I love it. :)
I can't believe I have just a little over 2 months before baby (or, well, when baby says so). I'm feeling very un-prepared, even though all I do is read and prepare! My 2 sister's-in-law are having a baby shower for me next month, I hope people get cloth diapers and such that are on my registry.

This is still what I want to finish reading while the baby is still kickin' and punchin' away in me:

Tomorrow Raw Spirit YAY!!!!!!! Can't wait for the raw chocolate party with two of my favorite people EVER, David Wolfe and Nick Good. . . .

I made some super potent superfood balls to take for us 3 (me, D, babe). They have: cacao nibs, cacao powder, spirulina, Nature's First Food, maca, tocos, lecithin, hemp protein, Thor's protein powder, a LOT of bee pollen, agave, honey, reishi, cayanne, cinnamon, sea salt, chlorella, lucuma, mesquite powder, Greener Grasses, cacao hydrosol, coconut oil, carob, cacao butter, macadamia nuts, brazil nuts, biodynamic raisons... whew... I think that's it!

And they actually taste good.

Finally getting settled in! I LOVE our house so much... poor old thing though, so much stuff to fix. Was neglected :( Friday morning we leave for Sedona for the Raw Spirit Festival.... last year was a blast! I'm really looking forward to it but am a bit bummed out because I am the size of a whale, have to pee every 15 minutes (6 hour car trip!!!!!!!), and worry I won't be a whole lotta fun. Oh well.

This is the cat's cabinet. She always has her own for her stuff. (She gets very possesive about her things :)

I don't know how to change the date on my camera ??*^!#. This is what she does in it ---- she gets stoned. She opens the catnip herself and digs in!

I love my catbaby.

Ok, this is what pregnancy has done to my feet. I wear a SIZE 7 shoe.... until now... I've been wearing very crappy big tennis shoes and flip flops and needed something to wear to the festival this weekend so I don't feel like Frankenstein...

The only thing that would fit me is SIZE 10.... eeegad!!

2 weeks without internet... finally moved though!!! Will be back shortly :)

This is my furry baby. She's so utterly freaked out because everything is dissapearing around her as it moves to the new home. We've been together 5 interesting years. She's been extra loving lately, I suspect due to the changes going on in me. Sometimes I catch her staring intently at my belly. I think she sees the little kicks with her super cat eyes. At the new house, there is 2 outdoor cats we've been feeding (taken the duty over from previous owner). Lola's going to flip out watching them through the windows. It's her and I's first house. :)

Tempus Fugit

I am almost 6 months preggo! We are in the middle of moving to our new house and am running out of time... I'm so gigantic it's hard to get stuff done :( This is our house, which I am going to paint green. The little tree in front of the house is our new lemon tree! In the backyard we've added a giant pecan tree (top picture), large pomegrante, an apricot and nectarine, two small figs and a variety of bushes, flowers etc. One of them is a honeysuckle vine.. when I was in kindergarten I used to eat the flowers and I remember fondly how much I loved them :) I can't wait till spring to start a vegetable garden!

1st post!

And I don't know what I'm doing ..hehehehehe.. fun!! This is me and my husband, David. We were married March 31st of this year and concieved my bellybaby that night. Now baby's arriving around xmas and I am thrilled, nervous, elated, wistful and just in shock! We just bought a new house and have many fun projects to embark on. . .
